Glass Art Sampler

This One Day class offers a wide variety of glass projects in three of our studios. Students will make a paperweight in the Glassblowing Studio, a glass tile in the Kiln Studio, and several beads in the Flame Studio. Perfect for someone interested in learning about glassworking but unsure where they fit. Sample all aspects of glass art!

Glass Experience: Plate Making

An introduction of kilnforming techniques & tools shows students how to cut flat glass and develop designs. After fusing glass sheets, students will "slump" them into molds.

Saturday afternoon

Drape Kiln Bowl
This class is designed for someone new to glass. Students will learn fundamental concepts of glass cutting and glass panel design and will then be encouraged to create their very own masterpiece!

Kiln Working: Kiln Carving

This technique utilizes a material called fiber paper which allows you to very easily cut out a pattern or image. The pattern or image is then placed into a kiln with a glass panel on top. During the firing the glass melts down onto the image or pattern. Once the panel has cooled it can be shaped into a plate of bowl using a slump mold.

KilnWorking: Intro. (8-Week)

In this eight week class student will learn fundamental techniques of kiln formed glass through the completion of four projects. Techniques covered in course: fusing, slumping, kiln casting, pattern bar, coldworking, kiln carving as well as kiln preparation. Once you have completed this course students will have the basic knowledge to tackle there next great idea during our open studio time.

Kilnworking Focus: Pattern Bar

 Looking to spice up your kiln creations? Then this is a technique you have to learn. This class starts with the basics and goes up from there. Students will learn fundamental glass concepts, basic design, glass cutting and cold working. By the end of this four day class students will have the confidence they need to take on their next kiln project.
