Every Third Friday between 6 – 10pm, watch glassblowing & beadmaking demonstrations, sign up for a guided glass activity, check out new exhibits in the East Gallery, and shop for glass art created by Third Degree glass artists.

Make your own glass art creation! Sign–ups begin at 6pm at the Education Table. All activity slots are filled on a first-come, first serve basis. Completed glass art projects will be available for pick up the following Wednesday.

  • Why is May’s exotic Third Friday a natural? A few glass factoids: Glass was discovered around 5000 BCE by Phoenician merchants. As early at 2400 BCE glass beads were being made in what is now Iraq and Iran. In 1500 BCE Egyptians were making vases, cups, artwork and jewelry from glass. And it is thought that the Phoenicians invented the technique of glassblowing around 50 BCE.
