Third Degree proudly supports the work of artists in the community, even non-glass artists! Every Third Friday we feature a new local 2-D artist’s work in our East Gallery. Here’s who we’re featuring this month:
“Marshland” by Marlene DiFiori Locke
Synthetic materials and current technologies play a big part in Marlene’s art production. Her ongoing art is a Marshland Series, Eddy (small whirlwinds) Series and Zoomer Series. No matter what she is using to make art (paint, ink, digital technology, graphite, plaster…), her thoughts are about movement, depth and chance. In 2011, Andy Banker from Fox 2 News in the Morning interviewed her about her Eddy Series. At Indiana University, she took over 60 hours of Fine Arts. Marlene has been in over 50 exhibits, and her work is included in corporate, university and private collections. Find out more at www.difioriart.com.
